Almost famous, yet again!!
October 15, 2013

My neighbor came up to me after a performance at the Ashokan Summer Hoot and said she just read about me in Will Hermes' book on the NYC music scene in the 70s: "Love Goes to Buildings On Fire." (I was Elly Greenberg back then.) Yes indeed, there I am on page 68 becuase Hilly Kristal had me as a regular performer at CBGB since he loved and wanted to promote Country, BlueGrass, and Blues. I was the first act at the new Bowery digs when he moved from 13th Street, and subsequently opened for many of the budding punksters such as Television. What a wild time it was....and those bathrooms....don't ask.

I Love Radio!!
April 14, 2013

This is very exciting: I now host a monthly radio show on WIOX Community Radio 91.3 FM. It's called "The Front Burner" ... 2 hours of acoustic based music from around the world. Really around the world- not just US & UK. The second hour focuses on indie regional artists from the New York State area, as well as national acts that are touring in the Catskills/Upstate neighborhood. Live performances, interviews and spins. Soon I will be joined by fellow singer-songwriter Dave Kearney who will be my co-host. Tune in the first Saturday of every month from 10:00 AM to Noon: www.wioxradio.org

"Song Stage" Has Begun!
October 8, 2012

I am leading a series of 8 workshops that support people of all ages and all levels in the crafts of songwriting and performance. Saturdays through December 8th we meet at the Pine Hill Community Center in Pine Hill NY (duh) from 1:00 - 3:00pm. The workshops are FREE (thanks to the Dutchess County Arts Council) and are open to everyone. Fun, supportive atmosphere. You can bring an instrument if you like, but it is not neccesary. Join us!

Texas, here I come....
June 18, 2012

Goin' back to where I've never been before, but maybe was there in a previous life. The reason I say that is because I have always, ever since I can remember, been drawn to and transfixed by the country blues. Blind Willie Johnson, Skip James, Son House, Vera Hall, Ma Rainey and so on. I'll be playing and teaching a workshop at the Tall City Blues Fest 2012 in Midland Texas July 27-29, and then on to check out the scene in Austin.

Check out the festival website:  http://www.tallcitybluesfest.com
